Care for Cashmere Socks

Many people are doubtful whether it is alright for cashmere socks to be hand washed instead of being brought to the dry cleaners.  The answer to the this questions is that cashmere socks can be hand washed but the most appropriate way of cleaning it and maintain its form and function is to have them dry-cleaned.

With the absolute comfort that these socks provide, it is only fair that they are given their due maintenance. Cashmere socks are expensive due to the best quality of fibers that are woven on the garment.

This will optimize the containment of body heat released on the soles of your feet.  However, these fibers are sensitive to deformation and shrinking which is why they have to be properly maintained in order for them to last many winters in the future.

Dry cleaning is best for cashmere socks because with dry cleaning, dirt, odor, and other forms of germs and bacteria that may be lying on the socks can be removed without changing the form of the socks.

However, if we want to keep things as simple and practical you can also opt to hand wash your wool socks and other wool clothing.  The main difference is that hand washing saves you money.  However, if you really want to keep your cashmere socks in pristine condition, you must take care not to deform the shape of your cashmere while it is soaked in water.
