Everyone should apply for the federal Pell Grant.  A lot of students miss out on this grant that could really use the money for school.

If you qualify, the federal Pell Grant is a wonderful thing to help pay for you to further your education.

A federal Pell Grant, which is federal monies, does not have to be repaid, ever.  This is very helpful these days during these hard financial times.

The amount of the federal Pell Grant differs.

The amount of the federal Pell Grant that a student receives depends on the student's financial need, how much it costs to attend the school of your choice and many other family and financial factors.

After filing out the Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) with all of the required information needed it will be used to determine your financial need by the U S Department of Education.

They use a standard formula established by Congress to evaluate the financial information filled out on the Pell Grant application.

After filling out the FAFSA, a student will receive a Student Aid Report, which will tell the student if they qualify for the federal Pell Grant. A student may not receive more than one Pell Grant at a time.

The Pell Grant was designed to give low-income students a chance for furthering their education with post secondary learning and obtaining a degree or certificate.  The federal Pell Grant will pay for both full-time and part-time enrollment, but not the same amount, of course.

These direct grants, the federal Pell Grant, are awarded through participating institutions to students of financial need that have not received their first degree or who have enrolled in certain programs that lead to certificates or licenses.

The participating institution either credits the school directly, pays the student with a check, or uses a combination of the two types of payment each semester.

The schools have to be paid twice per year which means that the student must be paid at least once per term. There is often money left over to go toward your expensive books and other fees. The federal Pell Grant is a must for any college student.
