When I need to make money now, the first move I make is to my friends and family. Not to borrow from them, but to see if they have any work that I can do for them. More often than not I’m able to get a job doing some yard work or babysitting within a few hours. They get something done that they didn’t want to do, and I get money and respect from the fact that I didn’t just try and borrow it from them!
Another good place to pick up a quick gig like this is on Craigslist. Navigate to that site and then to your city. Once on this page you’ll see a job section called [ETC]. This is the place where you can get all sorts of bizarre jobs. Not all of them are going to start you today, but a big chunk of them will. When talking to the person that posted the job make sure that you discuss when you get paid so that you’re not left waiting for a check when you could have gotten a job somewhere else.
Working for your money is a much cheaper way to get it than with a payday loan. Sure, it takes a lot more effort, but the fact that you’re not having to pay anything back will help you stay out of debt and hold on to more of your next paycheck!
A little bit longer term strategy to get cash quick is to refine your poker strategy and keep tabs on the local games in your area.
