Having a baby is one of the most wonderful things that can ever happen to any married couple. It brings a lot of joy and love into the house, especially if it is their first baby. But, no matter how much happiness a baby brings into the household, you can never deny the fact that there will be problems within the marriage itself. It is an unavoidable event that we simply can’t get away from, no matter how hard we try. It’s a very sad thought because the baby is often caught in the middle of this whole ordeal.

According to experts, most couples suffer from some sort of emotional rift that develops between them after having a baby. Problems associated with this are the lost of affection towards your partner, adjusting to life as a parent, and having to deal with the fact that your partner will no longer be the center of attention because of your responsibilities to your child.

Sometimes most of the child care responsibilities are left to the mother since the father is always out of the house working. This causes all of the wife’s attention to be focused more towards her baby and not her husband. This emotional rift will only get bigger with time so it is best to know how you can deal with marital problems after baby.

Your baby will be the center of your universe once he is born, there is no question about it, but you should remember that you still have your spouse with you. Your spouse should be given the same amount of love and attention as your baby.Always reassure your spouse that he/she is still important to you and that nothing is ever going to change between the two of you.

If you want, you can go all out by writing your partner a poem, bringing home some flowers(if your’re the husband), and surprising your partner every once in a while. Keep the fire between you two burning. It would be a shame to have your marriage slowly die out just because you have a new baby.
