Shower Curtain Rod Installation Tips

Installation of a shower curtains and rod is easy.

We are all aware that curtains play an important role in making sure that our house looks a little homier and more appealing.  If you want to install a curtain and you are doing it for the first time, you can try and install shower curtains for a start.

The advantage of doing this is the fact that this only involves one set of curtain so if you don’t have enough time to install window curtains you can start by installing a shower curtain rod.  For people who are just starting to do simple home renovations the most frustrating thing is to leave things unfinished.

When you are trying to install a shower curtain and rod for the first time here are simple steps on how you can get things done.

The most critical of all is the measurement; you should know how long the curtain rod will be because installing something too long or too short will definitely not work.

Marking where you would place the brackets is important; you have to be sure that you mark them so everything will be even. The brackets and fasteners should be sturdy enough to hold the curtains which make this step critical as well. Once you have installed this, the last part would be installing the curtain rings.

Once everything is done you can now install your shower curtain.   Make sure you try and find those unique shower curtains so that you can have a more appealing bathroom.

It is nice to maintain a beautiful bathroom because most people consider this is as a place where they can spend time alone and pamper themselves. Installing shower curtains is not that expensive that is why it would be a good idea to start doing it if we are doing renovations for the first time.

Cultured Marble Vanity Tops

When it comes to remodeling the home and deciding on which fixtures to install in a new bathroom,it is very rare that couples can agree.  They must decide on which items to use, what style and in which color.

Well the same is true when it comes to the selection of a bathroom vanity. While one may go for the modern style of a single leg pedestal sink, the other may want the organization and space that is provided by a 48 inch vanity. This type of marble material is a durable man-made substance that is molded and then allowed to cure until its hardness is equal to that of a rock. Stone can lose some of its strength every time it is cut, in contrast, cultured marble has the ability to be custom made into any shape that the designer wants and will still retain its durability.

Even convenient items such as cupholders and soap dishes can be crafted right into the marble making it look like one piece. Due to the natural impurities in the production process no two pieces, even though they are made with the same process, will look alike. Thereby giving you a countertop its own unique look.

In a side-by-side comparison this type of marble is easily the least expensive when compared to natural stone. Its price is comparable to that of a standard counter top containing a separate sink. These one-piece countertops are easier to install and their durability is much greater than laminate counter tops.

When installing standard countertops, they are adhered to the top of the vanity and then a hole is made to accommodate the sink.  Later a backsplash is then attached to it and the adjoining wall and then sealed with caulking.

You can walk into many homes today and see how over the course of time the caulking will deteriorate and water will always find its way into these cracks.  The water will eventually deteriorate the particle board used in the manufacture of most common countertops.

Vanity tops that are constructed of cultured marble in a one-piece design, that includes a backsplash, countertop and sink all-in-one are the way to go. This installation is very easy, you simply have to place the countertop on top of the vanity and secure it.

There is no need to be concerned about water deterioration of the material, even if the water is left standing on the countertop.

Remodeling a Bathroom with Round Mirrors

When you are tired of looking at your bathroom and want to have a fresh new look all you need to do is remodel it.  If you are trying to save and do not want to spend too much on materials and labor costs, then you can actually use round mirrors for walls to do the job.

There are a lot of very nice and intricate designs when it comes to this kind of mirror, which can add beauty to any space where it is placed.  This also holds true for bathrooms.  So if you really are keen on remodeling your bathroom or wet room, then you should know some tips on how to use these mirrors as decorations.

What are these tips that you need to know about in using round shaped mirrors as decorations inside the bathroom?

1.      Before you buy these mirrors, plan on the style that you want. If you want your bathroom to look like one of those that you see in many tropical resorts, then decide to buy round mirrors that have this kind of design and framing.  Some people even consider art deco mirrors.

2.      If you really want to have a bathroom that would look good aesthetically, then try to complement the mirrors that you have or those that you plan to buy with the lighting that you have in your bathroom.
