Is It A Good Idea To Seal Your Grout After Steam Cleaning?

Steam cleaning is probably the easiest way you can clean grout and tile. It not only disinfects the surface, but it helps to get rid of tough stains as well.

When you use a steam cleaner, it only takes a fraction of the time than it would otherwise take for you to clean your tile grout. In addition, since you’re using pressurized steam, you don’t have to use cleaning chemicals and can penetrate much deeper.

The best attachment you can use on a grout steam cleaner is the one that also has a brush for scrubbing the grout clean. As soon as you have your grout completely clean, the next thing to so is to seal your grout with a grout sealer. Learning how to seal grout is not that difficult. Essentially you can seal grout in three easy steps.

The first step is to make sure that your grout and tile is thoroughly cleaned, and also that it has had a chance to dry out. Once your grout is dry, it will be a lot more easy for you to apply the grout sealer.

The next step when you are sealing grout is to apply it. The fastest way to do this is with a rolling brush applicator. You can also build a bottle brush applicator, or you can even use a grout painting brush to apply the sealant. A lot of times, a sealer will also fit in a color to help change the existing color of your grout. A lot of times, people will change the color of their grout to a darker color so that it can hide stains easier.

The last step to seal grout is to make sure that you apply plenty of grout sealer. Often times, people do not apply enough grout sealant. You want to keep on applying the grout sealer until they can no longer be absorbed into the grout. If the grout sealer can no longer be absorbed, then neither can the dirt and grime that will surely follow.

Make sure that you use a good quality grout sealer that gets good reviews,  this way you will ensure that the grout sealer last for at least 6 to8 months until you can apply another coat of sealant.

How Crafts Help Kids Think

Many parents and teachers spend lots of time looking for easy craft projects for their children and students to do. The fact that they are looking for crafts that are easy shows crafts in a negative light.

The truth is that good arts and crafts for children should not be difficult and if they are, then they are not really appropriate for children. Sometimes you will have some websites claiming that they have really easy crafts for kids to do and they may be easy but, are also not good for kids.

Crafts when done right, in a developmentally appropriate manner should be very beneficial for child, even teaching them to think.

Let us say for example that you are a teacher and you need to make a fourth of july crafts project for the kids to bring home.

One way of doing this is to make a flag. Then  hold up this template of what the flag should look like and have the child create the same exact flag that you held up for them to copy.

This however, gives the child no benefit. There is no thinking involved, no creativity, no enjoyment and the only thing the kid gets out of it is maybe a bit of work oh his fine motor coordination.

If you really want children to learn to think when doing crafts the way to do so is as follows:

Prepare an empty flag for the children. The prepare an assortment of materials that the children can use to decorate their flags with.

Just because it is July fourth does not mean that the children have to make stars ad strips. If you give them an array of red, white and blue materials and allow them to create the kind of flag that they want, you will be very surprised. There will be tremendous creativity involved plus lots of thinking.

The children now have all of these materials in front of them and they have to make the decision on how to decorate that flag. If that’s not thinking at their level I don’t  know what is.

Choosing Your Pool Deck Material
